Season 2 of the blockbuster BL donghua Heaven Official’s Blessing promises strong characters, Heavenly corruption, and a reunion for Xie Lian.

The first trailer for Season 2 of the popular BL donghua Heaven Official’s Blessing was recently released by the Chinese streaming site Bilibili, outlining what to expect in terms of new characters, old scars, and what more is in store for the tale this season.

The story of Xie Lian, a god who recently ascended to the Heavens for the third time after being banished in shame twice before, is told in Heaven Official’s Blessing, based on a novel by Chinese author Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. Xie Lian is content to create a tiny shrine and keep it to himself, but he soon finds himself in over his head.

Production Status: What Caused The Delays?

As previously stated, the second season’s production has already commenced. This was verified by the producers in January 2021. However, given the length of time since the announcement, it should be noted that there may have been some delays in the production process. The pandemic is the most likely cause of the delay. Many anime programs encountered difficulties last year, resulting in indefinite hiatuses.

Season 1 Recap

Season 1 of Heaven Official’s Blessing was released in 2021 on Funimation and on Netflix for international viewers on April 9th, 2021. Heaven’s Official Blessing/Tian Guan Ci Fu has a manhua, and Season 1’s 12 episodes included 61 chapters from it. Its manhua has beautiful artwork, and Season 1 was fantastic as well! Even though several love sequences were cut from the anime owing to censorship, the chemistry was kept and it shone through!

The story revolved around Xie Lian, the Crown Prince of the Xian Le kingdom. He was beloved by his citizens eight hundred years ago, and everyone adored him. He ascended to Heaven at an early age but was banished owing to bad circumstances such as the war.
